DescriptionPhotograph taken looking east from Light Street at the 100 block East Pratt Street in Baltimore, Maryland. Traffic on the street includes pedestrians, a streetcar, and horse-drawn wagons and carriages. It is thought that this photograph was taken while the city was in the process of widening Pratt Street; dug up on the right is a wide section of the dirt and cobblestones not traveled on by the streetcars or wagons. The large building in the distance on the right is the Pier 4 power plant, producing electricity for the city's streetcars.
