Gray, dated 1879, that shows all twenty-four of Maryland's counties: Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore City (city limits shown by lines of demarcation), Baltimore, Calvert, Caroline, Carroll, Cecil, Charles, Dorchester, Frederick, Garrett, Harford, Howard, Kent, Montgomery, Prince George's (referred to as "Prince George"), Queen Anne's (referred to as "Queen Anne"), St. Mary's (referred to as "St. Mary"), Somerset, Talbot, Washington, Wicomico, and Worcester. Two insets in the lower left corner show Annapolis with points of reference and Annapolis Harbor on the Severn River channel. In addition to symbology for such features as railroads, canals, and state capitals, this map shows the boundaries of the original territory when it was first granted to Lord Baltimore (indicated by dashed lines that appear outside the 1879 boundary that is shaded red).
