Dear Hamilton:
I have a letter from Tom Mooney saying that the clipping that I sent him of my article of June 17th has been confiscated by the authorities at San Quentin. It appears that convicts are forbidden to receive clippings. Will you please have your excellent and efficient staff send Mooney a copy of the Evening Sun of June 17th with my article marked? It should be a complete copy of the paper and it should go out from the office. In addition, if it is possible, will you please have a copy of the morning Sun containing Duncan Aikman's last article sent to him? I think it was the issue of June 8th. There was another today (Sunday)
My apologies for bothering you in this matter. Poor Mooney likes to read such things and getting them to him is difficult. Unless they go out from the paper itself, they are apt to be confiscated. His address is simply: California State Prison, San Quentin, California.
Yours,
