Description	Photograph of the J.W. Crook store at number 1626 Edmondson Avenue at Mount Street in Baltimore, Maryland. J.W. Crook Stores Co. was the name of one of the first chain of grocery stores owned and headquartered in the city. On this evening (the street lamp on which the street name is displayed is light), several Caucasian and African-American adults and about a dozen school-age children are gathered outside the store. The store appears to be closed, although inside there is a man stacking cans. Signs advertising Beech-Nut Prepared Spaghetti in a can are displayed in the window. Some adults living above the store are visible in the window.
