Description	Hand colored lithograph drawn by Thomas Coke Ruckle and printed by A. Hoen & Co., of Baltimore that features the house where Robert Strawbridge, the father of Methodism, died. This was the home of John Wheeler, near Towson in Baltimore County, where Robert Strawbridge became ill while on a preaching mission in 1781. The scene represents the funeral held under the great tree, conducted by Reverend Richard Owings. Robert Strawbridge, a native of Ireland, settled on Sam's Creek in Frederick County, Maryland, about 1764 and began to hold Methodist services in a log house near Pike Creek in that county, now in Carroll County.
