Description	Colored aquatint by Louis Garneray after one of his own drawings and published by Hocquart of Paris and Bailly Ward & Co. of New York. It was taken from volume 5 of Vues des Côtes de France dan l'Ocean et dans la Mediterranéo, a large collection of views published in Paris about 1830-1835. This view is as seen from Federal Hill and shows the chief landmarks of the City: the two shot towers on the right. Nearby is the steeple of old Christ Church at Baltimore and Front Streets. The dome in the center is the Merchant's Exchange where the Custom House now is, and beyond is the shot tower at Gay and Saratoga Streets, razed long since. Toward the west may be seen the Washington Monument, the Cathedral and the tower of St. Paul's Church. See also Cator Print 141, an uncolored aquatint of the same view.
