I recieved [sic] your kind letter of the 12th and should have answered it sooner but for my increasing suffering from the symptoms of heart-disease, of which I have spoken to you. I have been very unwell during the whole of the present month.
I am very glad that you like my little book. I hear very kind things said about it.
I would gladly send you some of Edgar's writing if I had not already parted with nearly everything but his letters and these I cannot lose.
