I was about writing to a friend of mine in Baltimore to enquire whether you were still alive, when I received your very welcome letter. I am glad also that you are still able to write so strong & clear a hand. It will be [a] very good report of your "whereabout," [sic] for the person whose sympathies were interested, and whose letter I published in the Home Journal. I will inform her of it, as soon as I get the "address."
