(CIVILIAN DEFENSE0 PENNANT The C.D. (Civilian Defense) Pennants are to be mounted on staffs attached to the front bumper of the car so that the light from the automobile headlights will shine on the pennants. Each pennant must have the blackout driving permit number printed in the lower corner— dampen the cloth and using an indelible pencil, making the numerals approximately one-half inch high. Also print the letter "B" before the number. For Example: If your blackout driving permit No. is 746- print in the lower corner with indelible pencil B-746 These pennants must be displayed when driving during an air raid. George A.
