I hereby certify, that on this, the 28th day of April A.D. 1869, before me, Commissioner of Slave Statistics of Carroll County, personally appeared Stephen C. Brown and did make on oath in due form of law that he was the owner of the Slaves as above named at the time of the adoption of the Contstitution in 1864, and that all other matters and things as above stated are true to the best of his knowledge and belief; also, at the same time and place personally appeared before me, Commissioner as aforesaid, William Weer and George Patterson and did make oath in due form of law, that they have no interest whatever in the Slaves named in this Table, nor are they in any manner intersted in this proceeding, and that the several matters and things as above stated and set forth are true to the best of their knowledge and belief.
